AMBASSADORS Pole Dance & Fitness AWARD New Industry award created by Miss Pole Dance and World Pole Sport & Fitness Championships 1st February 2014

This title and position is about recognising the contribution to the pole industry world wide and is the first of its kind in the pole dance and fitness industry.
Created in 2013 by Kay Penney, founder of Miss Pole Dance UK and World Pole Sport & Fitness - World Pole Dance -  to recognise all the individuals and companies that have and continue to contribute their time and money in professionalising the industry
People are awarded this status by giving either their time or money or both to the community in the way of helping out,  by either judging, coaching, being a mentor, supporting competitors and others, developing the training, developing the  knowledge, promoting the talented and educating all etc.

Naturally the list of people is extensive and the public, students and fellow polers are requested to send in their nominations (more than one if necessary)  via email to
events@passion-fitness.com - detailing why they would like to nominate their mentor or Ambassador

Considerations for nominations would be for;-

Position held
Name of the company they represent
What have they currently done or are doing to help expand, develop and professionalise the pole community, now and in the future, to make it a positive, safe and professional place for all who wish to be associated to the Pole dance and fitness industry.

We, the Miss Pole Dance, World Pole Dance Organisation, will be awarding a certificate and recognising some individuals on the main stage during the presentations of all Miss Pole Dance and World Pole Dance competitions and is proud to be leading and innovating  the industry with this new award scheme.

THIS CLASS SHOULD NOT BE MISSED

Learn the correct stretches for your body type Stretching not only improves appearance, lengthens muscles, and gives that lean, toned look, but it also improves fitness and health. It is the ultimate for preventing injuries; in fact, at least 50% fewer over extension injuries are reported with athletes who use a regular stretching routine compared to those who don't at all! Stretching is a great warm-up or cool-down and improves muscular coordination, as well as prevents soreness and promotes faster recovery.

What is Flexibility? Flexibility is commonly described as the range of movement, or motion, around a particular joint or set of joints. Or in layman’s terms, how far we can reach, bend and turn. When improving flexibility is the goal, the muscles and their fascia (sheath) should be the major focus of flexibility training. While bones, joints, ligaments, tendons and skin do contribute to overall flexibility, we have limited control over these factors.

What is stretching? Stretching, as it relates to physical health and fitness, is the process of placing particular parts of the body into a position that will lengthen the muscles and their associated soft tissues. Upon undertaking a regular stretching program a number of changes begin to occur within the body and specifically within the muscles themselves. Other tissues that begin to adapt to the stretching process include the ligaments, tendons, fascia, skin and scar tissue. In this 4 hour Master class you will cover:

THEORY PUT INTO PRACTICE Learn essential knowledge about the muscles and the relationship between strength and flexibility, allowing greater understanding as to what is actually going on inside of your body and helping to stop those dreaded injuries. You can bring your shorts along with you for this as you may like to join in on the practical side of the theory. We will be transferring all of this knowledge onto your POLE MOVES in order to identify which muscles you need to stretch to improve them.

ASSESSMENTS You could be (and probably are) spending valuable time stretching the wrong muscles for your specific body or even for your specific needs. This will only result in injury along the line. We will be teaching you how to perform 121 assessments of crucial leg muscles so that you know for sure what you should actually be prioritising in your stretching routine.

PRACTICAL STRETCHING Time to get sweaty putting all of the above into practice in a nice and relaxed stretching session. The first section is concentrating on legs and is aiming for perfect front and middle splits. If you can already do the splits then we will move you on to the next level. Don't worry if you can't, we will get you started on the right path. Second section is focusing on back, chest, shoulders and stomach to name but a few and is aiming towards performing a straight legged bridge, and taking it on to the next level if it is ready. If it's not ready we will give you the tools for future development.

CONTORTION DEMO A short routine by Twisted Webb to show what can actually be achieved with hard work and determination. Videos and pictures are allowed for inspiration! You will receive a lovely stretching booklet to take home with you, so that we can ensure you are stretching SAFELY.

You will also be added to our private Facebook On-line Support Group for any additional help and advice you may need in the future; it’s not just a case of: here's your Master class and goodbye, we WANT to see your progress and we WANT to help you further.

World Pole Dance 2010 - Move Syntax Coordinator

Move Syntax Coordinator

Deb Riley has been given the unique position of Move Syntax Coordinator along with Donna Gant as support - This position is for the WORLD FINALS ONLY
And one that is brand new to the pole competition industry!
This position was tested by Deb Riley last year on the judging

Move Syntax Coordinator – Deb Riley

This job will be challenging as she will need to watch the whole routine from start to finish without a blink!!!
So being able to write down and label the moves as they are performed
Knowing the names of the moves is essential or being able to describe an unknown move/transition with speed – this may be a variation of a move.

Obviously the industry has lots of different names for many of the same moves
Some moves are combinations of two moves which maybe called a new name!
However as long as we use the same format and name for each contestant during the competition that is the main thing.
This position, on the judging panel, does not include judging the presentation or dance/fitness elements of the candidate’s performance just purely on the Tricks category

All other judges will still judge the tricks category

Execution of moves (safely and effectively) must be considered when marking and listing the moves down!

Her job is to look for any new moves / pole poses and to label them?!! And document them – Making History

There is an award BEST TRICKS too
From Debs documentation of moves and the rest of the judge’s scores collaborating they will all collectively come up with the winner of this award
This award will be decided during the judge’s deliberation after all the competitors have competed

Move Syntax Coordinator support – Donna Gant

This position is set to study each move during their routine and to document it, using the same format as the move syntax coordinator for every contestant
This position is placed as a backup in case the main syntax coordinator misses a move – which could easily happen due to the concentration required for the whole of the 5/6 minutes per contestant!! X 12 contestants

This documented information will also be used in the case of a ‘pole down’ whereby two same winners may have the same points then tricks decide the winner.

The amount of different moves will be counted; also duplications will also be noted
The one with more moves will be judged higher than that person with less moves - This will only be used during the deliberation process in the event there is a tie and not during the initial judging process in accordance to the main rules and regulations

Deb Riley's Launch party - Stoke on Trent

Going back to my roots… yeh

Pole Dancers, performers, instructors and students
I couldn’t help but sing along as I travelled the Northern roads I used to travel as a child as my nan used to live in Stoke many years ago now.

Over the months watching Deb work extremely hard, accomplishing her dream with husband Mark. It was a really emotional time, not only for me but I bet hugely multiplied for Deb.

On stage the lights twinkled, music boomed and the poles gleamed, in amongst the Chinese pole, silk, trapeze and hoop. The large studio was a flourish with talented personalities who have travelled from far and near to congratulate Deb and to network with like minded people.

What energy – greeted by lovely hostesses and the amazing Debs herself it was a huge transformation from the previous months of an empty shell, plain brick walls and white radiators!!

Huge names in the pole industry were invited to perform, mingle and share their talent yet again –
Alesia Vazmitsel, show casing her amazing glamour and style Miss Pole Dance UK champion 2008 and titled No 3 in the world
Jenyne Butterfly flown in from Vegas - titled No. 2 in the world
Tracey Simmonds, MPD UK champion title holder
Elena Gibson World and MPD UK title holder 2005
Sally Ann Giles, 7 title holder champion
Pole new comers, Bridget, Chantelle, Jess Leanne,
And the amazing Emma Mitchell with her quirky pole/burlesque performance which had me laughing throughout.

With all so many pole instructors, to many to list, in the room appreciating the mixtures of pole talent. It was such a shame I had to disappear before the end so apologies if I’ve missed any performers off the list.

Deb Riley Bio August 2009
Miss Pole Dance UK amateur judge

Deb Riley is most renowned for her amazing, unique and super advanced pole tricks. Due to her continual dedication and hard work over the last 4 years working within the pole industry and with her natural flare, daring approach and friendly professionalism she is well recognized as one of the best tricks instructors in the UK.
Although based in Stoke-on-Trent she has traveled the length and breadth of the UK to pass on her unique teachings to other pole instructors and students.

As an accomplished pole instructor and finalist competitor in Miss Pole Dance Fitness UK professional competition in both ‘glamour & fitness’ categories in 2006, 2007 and 2008 and invited judge for Miss Pole Dance UK 2008 amateur competition, she is now building a considerable reputation within the global pole industry, culminating in her appearance at the World Championship finals in April 2009 in Jamaica where she represented the United Kingdom.

Deb also has established contributions to the safety of pole instruction by creating the Pole-o-mat concept which was born in 2006. At that time it became clear, that despite the huge growth and success of pole dancing as a form of fitness there was nothing available in the market to enable people to practice safely.

After consultation with many professionals in the field, Deb's first designs for Pole-o-mat were launched and the mat was an instant success.
Since then much work has been done to improve the design, quality and safety of the mat and she is now delighted to share the finished product with you, whether a complete beginner or super standard like Deb.

Deb’s safety mats, the pole-o-mat can be ordered via
