Highlights of the Pole Passion and Burlesque Instructor training

Highlights of the Pole Passion Pole & Burlesque Instructor training

Pole Passion’s foundations were established in the Pole industry from its birth here in the UK since the early 2000’s before it was desired as a fitness form and most definitely before it was considered as one of the new ideas for thousands of ladies and some men, across the world to keep healthy and active while having great challenging fun.
Founder Kay Penney, passionate about all things fitness, decided to think out of the box and design something new for the fitness industry. Of course it didn’t start out like that as Kay found the techniques on and around the pole a personal challenge when looking for something to rekindle her figure and mental positivity, after having given birth of her third child. A mammoth and almost impossible task at that time, especially as the fitness consultant she employed to help her, after one year, told her Pole Dance and Fitness  would not be accepted or accredited in the fitness industry and IF they were,!!  it would take at least 8 years or so – Fuelled by those words, Kay, what some two years later, had Pole Passion’s comprehensive fitness Instructor level 1 and Advanced level 2 courses accredited by REP’s  (Register of Exercise Professionals) the route of all European fitness professionals that are monitored yearly and  governed by strict code of conducts.  Later published, Elite Accredited Level 3 and Burlesque for Fitness accredited courses, now also offered.
Pole Passion today is one of the most highly recognised Pole Training Providers and Brands in the pole world – developing comprehensive courses with great, comprehensive content and excellent value for money.  One day courses costing as little as £150, also offering  discounts if more than one course is booked at the same time too. Students have attended as far from the USA, Russia, Europe, Ireland and Scotland to learn the Pole Passion way.  Priding themselves on being thorough and progressing  each individual  student and instructor to their next stage, before, during and after they have attended our courses, whether an experienced instructor already with  a fitness and dance back grounds looking for the well-deserved credibility or whether totally new to fitness, dance and or even the pole 
What are the main benefits of becoming internationally Pole Sport accredited?

The main benefits of becoming accredited have to be by far the credibility aspect and industry recognition in what you do is recognised and awarded to the highest of industry awards not to mention the fact your insurance will be cheaper and valid too.  You will have the confidence and peace of mind you are teaching safely, correctly and effectively:-  learning ways of progressing and supporting your participants without causing possible delayed injury or incorrect techniques. Visit our website for our testimonials - http://www.polepassion.com/fitness/become-instructor/

Nico Modestine teaches the Spatchcock

Learn the SPATCHCOCK move and techniques with Nico’s Master Classes

The move many of us only dream of!
So where did it come from and where was it first seen
For many of us it was Felix Cane in the summer of 2009 who famously executed it initially during the World Pole Dance championships in Jamaica for public viewing during her world class performance  www.worldpoledance.com
A wondrous account of super human flexibility with the over stretch of the legs and back

So what does the word mean?
It is how cooks prepare an uncooked chicken by flattening it on the grill plate
Glad you asked now ??  no means a sexy or glamorous name choice !!

However we must not let this somewhat unflattering choice off label misinterpret the skill and hyper extension required for this move

This move of course always look so much more amazing on a spinney pole

Come and support Nico at the world championships on November 10th 2012
Email Pole Passion for more information about Nico's forth coming Master Classes

Kay Penney Contributing to the History of Pole Dance

Contributing to the History of Pole Dance
Pole Dance Brazil 2012 interview

1. The evolving of the pole activity in the last 10 years
This in my view has been amazing, always with the unquestionably belief it would get big but never in the capacity, extent and speed in which we are witnessing.  This I believe has been the factor of two possibilities - the competitions have made the techniques available and accessible for all to see and join in to and  the contribution of social media sites such as Facebook, Youtube and the internet. My day is filled with emails and conversations of many different cultures beliefs and ideas from people from all over the world. I am proud to be a major innovator and pioneer here in the UK and world and will continue to do so for many more years to come

2. the competitions and recognition achieved
The competitions have grown too naturally – It was always going to be a natural progression of our sport to show case our art and expertise to all.  My main aim was to create a main stage for people to do this without the fear of being wrongly judged. This I am proud to have achieved already
I, with our network of international supporters, continue to adapt and create
National and International Rules and regulations created and adapted since 2004, yearly as the competitions evolve and challenge
Code of pole ethics – created in 2006 setting and maintaining standards
Health and safety documentation created and up held
Competitor support in the case of chaperone responsibilities documented
Sponsorships are growing as too are the number of cheerleaders
Numbers both in competitors and spectators are increasing every year too
Media interest is increasing every year and more positivity is created

3. Who are the main players within the industry (pole dancers, product and school representatives, instructors and event's organisers)
This is always a difficult one to start as list of individuals and we should question How is this list formulated or individuals recognised? By the amount of titles they hold? or the amount of hours they dedicate to their training? or is it the amount of hours they dedicate to others to enhance and promote their talents?  There are many hidden and more silent types that do exceptional work in the back ground that have smaller egos than others but without these many key individuals the industry would not be where it is today for sure.  Had you asked me this question 8 years ago I could have listed the people probably on one hand

4. pole dance as a definition today
Pole dance is still portrayed in many forms with many expressions and techniques that is what makes it such a special type of innovative sport and dance and why it is here to stay.
The competitions help very much in this creation and education for which I am very proud to be a part of since 2004. Let’s not forget why Miss Pole Dance was first formulated way back in 2003 – to educate and market to people who had not had the opportunity  in visiting a gentleman’s club as to that is where the foundations were laid. Obviously still to this day we are seeing new innovative variations of moves and combinations
Let’s keep its definition simple to sensual movements on and around a vertical bar, portraying power, strength, flexibility, creativity and technical skill

5. what is in the future of the pole

The sky is the limit let’s not lose sight of all the greats who stood up in the beginning treading new ground and still continue to do so 10 years on
The Passion for the pole is still very much there for me as I am sure for many other thousands of people across the globe who have joined the sport since
Let’s continue to work together for a force for good
Lead not destroy but let’s work together in harmony for a healthier and happier future for pole fitness and freedom of choice.

Uniquely we wrote the Code of Pole Practice in 2006 to help set the industry standards, desperate to keep and acknowledge all the hard work that was being invested and created in the pole industry by this time. We designed rules and regulations for national and international competitions of all grades and created courses and invited the first master trainers to the UK by the arrival of Pantera USA in 2006 to support UK polers. NEW for 2012 we are now offering license opportunities to join our team at a very low set up costs once you have reached the required industry standards. We also offer you to join our Rpole equipment affiliate programme whereby sharing the rewards throughout the pole industry. Rpole was innovated by the Pole Passion team as there was a need for a portable and lightweight pole that could go anywhere, easily, to support our training programmes – Today we are proud to have created the world’s first, most portable and lightest pole in the world. We inspire people from all walks of life, from world champions, Felix Cane and Alesia Vazmitsel to everyday people, like me, offering world wide networking opportunities and to be part of World Pole Dance and Miss Pole Dance UK, owned and operated by Pole Passion, with our motto always being -

Empowerment, Confidence, Fitness & FUN!

Jess Leanne Norris Master Class Brighton hosted by Pole Passion 3rd December 2011

Jess Leanne Norris Master Class Training December 3rd 2011

Brighton

Many thanks to Jess for travelling down to Brighton to host her first Master Class with Pole Passion since the successful win of Miss Pole Dance UK Professional championships 2011 in July
Jess took 36 girls through the grilling pace of her training routines from cross ankle release sit ups up the pole, to spin combinations on the free standing Rpoles and floor to ceiling poles in Brighton studio where Pantera Blacksmith (USA) pole tricks expert also hosted one of her very first Master class with Pole Passion years ago.
Jess worked hard supporting the girls of all standards and experiences and with her friendly manner and supportive approach making the day run smoothly, transitioning into the amazing Christmas Party also hosted by Pole Passion as a thank you to the pole girls near and far

A very big thank you to Jess for supporting the polers in the South and we look forward to seeing you again soon
Each participant received a signed certificate by Jess as a record and memento of the day
