Pole Passion Presents a brand new style pole competition, already leading the field in pole competitions Pole Passion is supporting R-pole, the worlds first, light weight, free standing, portable pole, specifically designed for the gym environment, has created a FUN style competition open to all



R- Pole ‘One Trick Wonder’ Competition
10th & 11th July 2010 at Taylor Retreat organised by Pole2Pole Magazine

Pole Passion will be hosting a fun R-Pole ‘One Trick Wonder’ competition on both days.

Think of a handstand competition you used to do with your friends? Then think again of holding a move off the floor, on the pole - competition.

THE RULES

1) Hold a move on the R-pole for as long as you can without contact with the mat or boss

2) The winner is the person who can hold their one move the longest

3) The move must be started by holding the pole

4) The time starts when all the body if off the floor

5) The pole can not be clasped by the inner thigh, forearms or calf area which will help grip the pole
6) You may have 3 attempts of your move & the best time will be logged

7) The move must be static (pole hold) and the body MUST not move a full rotation around the pole, however, slight movement will be allowed
8) Please remove all high heeled shoes

9) Anyone can enter - Anyone can win - Open to females & males of all ages.

10) Contestants with moves over 5 minutes long will be placed in 'a pole off' if necessary.
There will be a singles category & a doubles each day!!


As this is a fun competition, on the day of the event you decide whether you want to ‘jump up’ and have a go! No pre auditioning no pre registering!!!

We have had the pleasure of working along side Alesia for many years since she first emerged onto the main stage entering and winning Miss Pole Dance UK competition. We are extremely proud of her achievements and contribution to the pole world since her win.

She has hosted numerous master classes both on the pole and off with her amazing talents and flexibility and proud of her achievement in 2009 in coming third in the World Pole Dance championships www.worldpoledance.com

We believe that Alesia will show case the true beauty and art form of Pole techniques to its maximum, demonstrating the amazing strength and courage required for a 6 meter pole!!

"Alesia started ballet dancing at the age of four. From age 11 Alesia trained at a circus school and then worked in the National Circus of Belarus as a gymnast and dancer. Alesia has been pole dancing since 1997, she is a mesmerising performer and is very inspiring to watch........Her hobbies include various sports and travelling, she also holds a Bsc in Business Administration."

Nick Beyeler ~ World Gymnastic Aerobics Champion Miss Pole Fitness Switzerland

We were proud to meet Nick Beyeler as he presented a unique pole act at the recent Miss Pole Fitness championships in Switzerland demonstrating extreme strength, grace, flexibility and that pole dancing was certainly not just made for women!

The audience were blown away by his athletic and world class performance after the Miss Pole Fitness Championships on May 29th 2010 held at the Radisson Blu Zurich to include super advanced flexibility moves such as the spatchcock, hyper extending the splits and beyond!!

World Gymnastic Aerobics Champion, Aerialist and International Men's Health Magazine Cover boy. Nick has also provided the action for the World’s highest building, 101Tower in Taipei, and was showcasing his versatility at the Olympic Games ‘08 Opening Ceremony in Beijing. 2002 Sports Aerobics World Champion,8 times Swiss National Aerobics Champion, 1st FISSAF World Championships 2002, Montpellier, France

Miss Pole Fitness Switzerland 2010


The 1st Miss Pole Fitness Switzerland - Competition!

Miss Pole Fitness Switzerland is an acknowledged national competition; finals to be held for the first time in Switzerland on May 29th 2010. Daniela Baumann (international Pole Fitness Presenter) and owner of the biggest LOFT1 pole-studios with more than 900 members and is the organiser for the Miss Pole Fitness Championship in Switzerland.

Participation is possible for women who are 18 years or older. The best Swiss Pole Fitness participants will compete against each other for the title Miss Pole Fitness Switzerland.

Miss Pole Fitness Switzerland is a delegate for her country as well for the sport Pole Fitness. Winning this title means automatic participation at the World Pole Sport & Fitness Championships on 2nd October 2010. www.worldpoledance.com

Regional Semi-Finals

The Qualifications took place in Zurich, Basel, Lucerne and Bern. The participants are allowed only one performance which may last a maximum of 5 minutes. The participants are allowed bringing their own music which should be handed to the regional jury 60 minutes prior in CD format. At this point in the competition there exists no necessity to appear in an evening gown yet.

The contestants will perform to a professional jury. The participants will be judged on
Technique, Acrobatics, Charisma, Style, Dance and Amusement.

Semi Finals

The Semi Finals will take place May 8th 2010 at the exclusive new Airport Fitness Zurich. During the semi finals the candidates passing the regional Qualification Rounds will have to compete against each other. There will be 2 candidates per region being chosen from the semi finals.

Finals

The finals exist of 2 rounds;

Round 1 - The contestants` performances of max 5 minutes.
The participants will be judged on Technique, Acrobatics, Charisma, Style, Dance and Amusement.

Round 2 – The contestants will have an appearance in elegant evening gown where the contestants will be interviewed and tested on common knowledge.
The participants will be judged on personality amongst others.

The components of Pole Fitness

• Strength - the extent to which muscles can exert force by contracting against resistance (holding on to the pole with restraining body weight incorporated within the pole spins transitions and poses)
• Power - the ability to exert maximum muscular contraction instantly in an explosive burst of movements. The two components of power are strength and speed. (. a pole spin or combination of spins)
• Agility - the ability to perform a series of explosive power movements in rapid succession in opposing directions (shoulder mount into superman(woman))
• Balance - the ability to control the body's position, either stationary (a handstand) or whilst moving (Knees)
• Flexibility - the ability to achieve an extended range of motion without being impeded by excess tissue, i.e. fat or muscle (vertical splits)
• Muscular Endurance - a muscle's ability to perform sustained work (pole climbs and spins using the hands and legs only)
• Cardiovascular Endurance - the heart's ability to deliver blood to working muscles and their ability to use it (competition routines)
• Strength Endurance - a muscle's ability to perform a maximum contraction time after time (competition routines)
• Co-ordination - the ability to integrate the above listed components so that effective movements are achieved.
